| AML Training |
Money laundering is the illegal practice of placing money gained from criminal activity through a series of apparently legitimate transactions to hide the criminal origin of the money. Because the multi-billion dollar insurance industry is a prime target for money launderers, new federal regulations are in place requiring agents who sell life insurance and annuities to complete anti-money laundering training . The US Treasury Department, as of May 2, 2006, is requiring all insurance companies to implement an Anti-Money Laundering (AML) program. Most carriers have elected to use the AML training module offered through LIMRA. It's available to producers through a computer-based training program at no cost to you. The process takes approximately 45-60 minutes and LIMRA will report the completed status to the insurance carriers automatically. If you have completed this training for one carrier, you will NOT have to repeat the training for other carriers. Anyone who already has received training from another insurance company can simply sign a certification that they have done so. The Larry Gordon Agency, Inc. through our partnership with NAILBA, is providing this link to the LIMRA Training Module for your convenience. Please click here for access to the to the LIMRA site. Registering is required.
